Different Land Leased Communities will charge different monthly lot rents, depending on proximity to the city, etc. Ask your home consultant about what the lot rent would be for the community of your choice, and what services will be included in that fee.

Understand the Details

Make sure you understand, and can live with, the terms of your lease. As with purchasing land, there are a number of issues to consider:
  • Relocation – Are there provisions in the lease to assist you, or hinder you, if you should choose to relocate your new home in the future?
  • Rules – If the property is in a community, are there rules and regulations that tenants must abide by?
  • Fees – What are the monthly lot rent fees and what services are provided by the community?
  • Amenities – Are there schools, public transit stations, groceries stores, or other amenities nearby that suit your lifestyle?
