The benefits of having an in-house service team

One major benefit that Havill’s offers its homeowners is that we have our own in-house service team. “We have our own specialized crew who are there to make sure that every delivery goes smoothly, and at our homes are set up and made ready for our homeowners in an efficient and quick timeline with no compromise on quality. Our crew has over half a century of combined experience in carpentry and renovations,” explains our home consultant Viola Selk-Tramble. 

What exactly does our crew do? A lot! 

  • Before a new home is delivered, our team supervises the laying of the pad the home will sit on, they supervise the delivery of the home onto that pad and they look after the levelling, blocking, and tiedown services to stabilize the home on the site. 
  • They ensure all necessary hook-ups—sewer and water—are correct. They heat-tape everything so no plumbing freezes in the winter months. 
  • They install the skirting underneath the home with an access door so that the space can be used for storage for things like garden hoses and shovels. 
  • They build your front and back steps. 
  • Sometimes minor issues occur with drywall inside the home during transportation to the homesite and our team is there to fix up any cracks for you, before you move in. 
  • We prepare everything for Nova Scotia power so that we can get the power turned in for our clients as soon as possible
  • We even install light fixtures, smoke and monoxide detectors, and anything else that may need to be put in place to prepare the home for its new owners. 

By the time our crew leaves the job site, the new home is turnkey and ready to move into. Access to this team of skilled tradespeople doesn’t end once homeowners move in though, they are available to help with any issues that may arise. Recently, they went out to Ten Beaches Estates to assist with one-year touchups on a Jasper mini home and the homeowners sent us a note to say how pleased they were with the work done, and that our team was polite, efficient, and did a great job. That’s all part of the Havill’s experience. We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our homeowners, wherever you are in your homeowner’s journey with us. 

Having an in-house service team gives us an advantage over our competitors who subcontract all this work out. We’re invested in making sure everything is done right from the get-go and delivering the best possible customer service. This is a great benefit to our homeowners, who only need to pick up the phone to have their concerns addressed and dealt with by a team that they can trust, and who knows them and their home.

Please be advised that our office is open by appointment only. We are trying whenever possible to maintain social distancing to keep our staff and clients safe. We have tight areas in our office and want to avoid client overlap. During Covid, we discovered that we are able to share information about our homes with clients from the comfort and safety of their own home, using video meetings, virtual tours, and digital signing.  At this time, you will also notice we have no model homes on the lot to view in person, however, we do have virtual tours of all of our homes that can be found online on our YouTube channel or our FaceBook page.
